Simon Rich works with stoneware and porcelain with a variety of glazes and techniques, notably crystalline, terra sigillata and raku.
Crystalline glazing is time consuming and expensive to produce. There can be many failures, but when all goes well the effects are stunning. Many of Simon Rich's pots are hand thrown in porcelain, one of the more difficult clays to throw, especially large pots.
