Hugh Brandon-Cox born 1917-2004, was an artist, explorer and writer inspired as much by the wild and wind-swept expanses of the North Norfolk coast as of Northern Scandinavia. He wrote and illustrated a series of books about his travels in Norway and the Artic circle and later wrote books which evoke the bleak grandeur of the coastal scenery and timeless quality of the Norfolk Countryside. The soft loose style of his paintings portray the love of nature that engulfed Hugh Brandon-Cox in all his travels.
