Born in Palermo 1950, though in the main Stefano is a self-taught artist he has learnt much from local masters and direct observation. His first exhibition of note was a group show in a gallery of fine art in Rome,this was at the age of 17years. Despite the lack of encouragement from his family, Stefano could not ignore his deep passion for painting. While attending classical studies he continued to paint at any opportunity that he could, taking part in many group shows, and finally having his first solo exhibition in 1997-promoted by the art critic Francesco Carbone.
