Thomas's Sea Shore ranges depict seven variations of abstract coastal coastal, beach and seascapes with alternative skies/backgrounds influenced by many childhood walks across the South Downs, along estuaries and pebbled beaches in East Sussex where he grew up. Passing under the white chalky cliffs the grass often leads straight onto the multi-colored pebbles which then lead down to the waves rolling in from the Channel. Each piece has been sand blasted, which like the sea and winds of the region, have eroded the surface revealing colours and patterns underneath and giving parts of it a mottled effect.
