The theatre has been a strong influence in Thomass paintings; he spent many years involved in design and scenery. His pallet is traditional both in the mixing of his colours and the application of his paint to the canvas, often using a pallet knife with its width and edge to extenuate perspective. Thomas fills his paintings with an abundance of humour, yet there is often a depth of seriousness, reflecting another side to his personality, as Thomas is a deep and sensitive man therefore it is his nature to execute great care in each and every one of his paintings.
